As a rule, the course of study takes 4 semesters. After passing the master thesis you will receive the degree Master of Science.
The interdisciplinary master's degree program in Nanotechnology offers students very good conditions for their further scientific work. The Faculties of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, of Mechanical Engineering, of Mathematics and Physics as well as the Faculty of Natural Sciences are jointly organizing the course. The Master's programme Nanotechnology is offered to Bachelor's graduates of the fields of nanotechnology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemistry and physics. The standard duration of study is four semesters, one semester of which is devoted to the Master's thesis.
What can you expect during your studies?
Detailed information on the Master's program in Nanotechnology can be found on the homepage of the Laboratory of Nano and Quantum Engineering (LNQE). You will also find information on the course contents under the tab course and module catalogue.
Areas of activity
The area of activity open to you are material development and the physical and chemical characterisation of nanomaterials. Another broad field is the use of the novel possibilities of these materials as well as the development, production and investigation of micro- and nanocomponents. An alternative field of activity can be found in environmental authorities in the assessment of environmental engineering issues. You can find concrete job opportunities and career examples under field reports.
