Metals Technology as subject in the Master’s Teacher Training Course for Technical Education

Metals Technology as subject in the Master’s Teacher Training Course for Technical Education, M. Ed.

The programme prepares students for the field of activity of a teacher at vocational schools. The course of study at Leibniz University Hannover deepens the knowledge and skills in various professional fields from the bachelor's programme in Technical Education or a comparable bachelor's programme. Completion of the course of study entitles the holder to take up preparatory service for a teaching post at vocational schools.

What can you expect during your studies?

Parallel to this, from the 1st to the 4th semester, students study the vocational specialisation, the teaching subject and vocational and business education. The aim of the programme is to provide students with the skills they need to plan, organise, reflect and evaluate teaching and learning processes as teachers at vocational schools.

The study programme of the participating professional field of metal technology concentrates on the consolidation of the scientific, didactic and pedagogical knowledge and skills already acquired in a suitable Bachelor's programme. In specialized internships (six weeks in total) at vocational schools, teaching/learning arrangements developed in courses are tested and analyzed for teaching purposes.

Detailed information on the course of studies and the contents of the individual modules can be found in the study guide "LbS Field of metal technology".
