Bachelor Mechanical Engineering
The following criteria must first be met!
- The student has achieved at least 130 credit points in the Bachelor's degree programme in Mechanical Engineering.
- Among these, the following subjects must have been passed:
- Engineering Mechanics I - IV
- Mathematics I + II + Numerical Mathematics (PO 2015 Mathematics I-IV).
- No more than a total of 27-33 credit points from examinations and coursework may be brought forward.
- Examination achievements taken in advance do not constitute an entitlement to admission to the corresponding Master's degree programme.
- The examination board of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is responsible for checking the admission requirements. For this purpose, students must submit a current transcript of grades to the examination board.
Which examination and study achievements may be brought forward?
- 2x compulsory module (13 - 16 LP)
- 2x compulsory elective module (10 LP)
- Laboratory (5 LP)*
- Tutorials/Studium Generale (2 LP)*
*Tutorials/Studium Generale totalling 2 LP and master labs totalling 5 LP may be taken. The number of courses is not relevant and not all tutorials and master labs have to be brought forward.
Bachelor Physics
The following criteria must first be met!
- The student has achieved at least 130 credit points in the Bachelor's degree programme in physics.
- Among these, the following subjects must have been passed:
- Analysis I and II
- Linear Algebra I
- Mathematics for Physicists I and II
- No more than a total of 27 credit points from examinations and coursework may be brought forward.
- Examination achievements taken in advance do not entitle the student to admission to the corresponding Master's degree programme.
- The examination board of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is responsible for checking the admission requirements. For this purpose, students must submit a current transcript of grades to the examination board.
Which examination and/or study achievements may be brought forward?
- 2x compulsory module (10 LP)
- 2x compulsory elective module (10 LP)
- Laboratory (5 LP)*
- Tutorials/Studium Generale (2 LP)*

How and where are early study and examination achievements recognised?
For the recognition of early examinations, please fill out the registration and admission form and submit it to the examination board of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering by the end of the respective examination registration period in the semester at the latest. If you are admitted and the registration form has been formally checked for accuracy, the registration for the early examinations will be booked in the system via the Academic Examination Office. Please note that registrations after the end of the lecture period will no longer be considered. The teachers are responsible for recording the grades for the examinations taken. Please register directly at the relevant institutes or via stud.IP for the course achievements and submit a certificate of the successfully completed course achievement to the examination office as soon as you are enrolled in the Master's programme in Optical Technologies.
For successful registration, the completed and signed form must be submitted by e-mail to the examination board within the examination registration period of the corresponding semester (pa@maschinenbau.uni-hannover.de)
