Committees perform specific administrative tasks to support the Dean's Office and the Dean of Studies in academic self-administration. They are decision-making bodies consisting of representatives of the so-called status groups (professors, academic staff and technical and administrative staff).

Important bodies of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering are the Faculty Council, the Study Commission and the Examination Board. Further institutions of academic self-administration are the Internship Office, the Study Information Working Group and the student institutions.
