Living in Hanover
Every semester, many new students from all over the world begin their studies in Hannover. Admission to a degree programme is not linked to a flat or room, so it is important to start looking as early as possible.
Websites for finding accommodation
* There are more students looking for a place in a hall of residence than there are rooms available, so it makes sense to apply for a hall of residence online as early as possible. The Studentenwerk Hannover also has an online database for rooms.
LeibnizCard
After completing the admission procedure, you are entitled to a student ID card, the so-called LeibnizCard. You can find all the details about this card in the LeibnizCard FAQ.
The card allows you to use public transport in and around Hannover and in the state of Lower Saxony free of charge.
You also have access to the TIB library, can use it to pay in the canteens and have a CampusCard for university sports, where you will find numerous sports programmes and courses.
What else is important?
