Further possibilities

In addition to the Erasmus and Double-Degree programmes, there are many other options for organising your stay abroad. Depending on the focus you would like to focus on, a research stay can also be considered, for example, in order to write your student research project or thesis. If you are interested in a short stay, the Summer or Winter Schools might be just right for you. On this page we briefly present further interesting possibilities for a stay abroad.

Options

  • Research Collaborations

Through the numerous research cooperations of the institutes, you have the opportunity to write your student research projects or dissertations at cooperating institutes abroad. If you are interested, please come to the Study Abroad Advisory Service, where we can find out together which institutes and cooperations are best suited to you.

  • ISEP

Students from all Bachelor's and Master's programmes at Leibniz University Hannover have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad at one of more than 140 universities in North America or Oceania as part of the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP).

  • Free Mover

If the university of your choice is not among the cooperation and/or partner universities, you have the possibility to apply as a Free Mover at the respective university. Please note, however, that a high degree of personal initiative is required, as the organisation of the study place at the desired university abroad (admission procedure) as well as the financing is largely in your hands.

  • Summer Schools/Winter Schools

The Summer or Winter School can be an attractive alternative to a semester abroad if a longer stay abroad is difficult to integrate into your study planning. During a Summer School, you will gain an intensive insight into your subject and also get to know students and lecturers from all over the world. Current offers for Summer/Winter Schools with information on the application procedure

  • Partner Universities

Leibniz University's international relations are diverse. For example, the university currently maintains 168 cooperation agreements on a contractual basis with 139 universities in 40 countries. You can find all available partner universities of Leibniz University Hannover in the database.
