Sustainable Engineering, M. Sc.

Do you want to study an innovative degree programme? Do you not only want to receive a technical education, but also one that enables you to provide answers to the challenging questions of today? Sustainability, resource conservation and green tech are topics that concern you? Then come to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Leibniz Universität Hannover and study the Master's degree programme in Sustainable Engineering. There you can specialise in ‘Sustainable Production’, ‘Sustainable System Development’ or ‘Sustainable Energy Systems’. An interdisciplinary cross-sectional area also allows you to take modules from sustainability sciences, law, geo-economics and other related subject areas, equipping you with valuable additional skills.

If you opt for the Master's in Sustainable Engineering Science, you are choosing an interdisciplinary degree programme that is unique at TU9 Universities and expands the perspective of engineering sciences with sustainability-focused issues.

Career prospects

As a graduate of the Master's degree programme in Sustainable Engineering, you will be able to answer engineering questions from the multidimensional perspective of sustainability and enhance established engineering research from this new point of view. You have an eye on the special social challenges and demands placed on technical equipment and act as an expert for interdisciplinary, resource-saving, innovative and sustainable solutions.

As a key player, you will also organise company processes in development, design and production according to sustainability-related criteria. You will manage processes in companies and ensure sustainable production methods.

With your Master's degree in Sustainable Engineering, you will have a wide range of career opportunities in industry, research, technical departments of local authorities and other sustainability-related organisations, both nationally and internationally. Of course, you can also pursue an academic career and do a doctorate with your Master's degree.
